Queer Porto – Festival Internacional de Cinema Queer

Em 2015, a equipa do Queer Lisboa viu finalmente ser cumprido um projeto há muito desejado: a organização do Queer Porto. Após uma “edição zero” em outubro de 2014, o projeto de um festival queer na cidade começou a tomar forma, seguido em 2015 e 2016 por duas primeiras edições que levaram filmes, performances e festas ao Teatro Rivoli, malavoadora.porto, Maus Hábitos e Galeria Wrong Weather. Através destes diferentes espaços e da sua política de programação, o Festival pretende chegar aos vários públicos e às diferentes expressões do tecido cultural do Porto, pondo em diálogo o cinema com outras artes.

A ter lugar depois do encerramento do Queer Lisboa, o Queer Porto não se trata de uma extensão dos filmes programados no Festival em Lisboa. A par da apresentação de títulos inéditos em Portugal, aposta em estreias nacionais, atraindo à cidade os realizadores dos filmes, e organizando atividades educativas e de caráter mais lúdico. A oitava edição do Festival irá ser celebrada entre os dias 29 de Novembro e 4 de Dezembro no renovado Cinema Batalha. Contará com as habituais parcerias na cidade como é o caso do Maus Hábitos.

Queer Porto – International Queer Film Festival

In 2015, the Queer Lisboa team finally came up with a long-desired project: the Queer Porto organization. After a “zero edition” in October 2014, the project of a queer festival in the city began to take shape, followed in 2015 and 2016 by two first editions that brought films, performances and parties to Teatro Rivoli, malavoadora.porto, Maus Hábitos and Wrong Weather Gallery. Through these different spaces and its programming policy, the Festival aims to reach out to the various audiences and the different expressions of the cultural fabric of Porto, putting cinema in dialogue with other artistic expressions.

To be after the closure of Queer Lisboa, Queer Porto is not an extension of the films scheduled at the Lisbon Festival. Along with the presentation of unpublished titles in Portugal, Queer Porto bets on national premieres, attracting filmmakers to the city and organizing educational and more playful activities. The 8th Edition of the Festival will be held between 28th November and 4th December 2022 in Cinema Batalha. Other activities will take place in other locations, like Maus Hábitos.
