APF

APF – Portuguese Association for Family Planning was founded in 1967. It’s a non-governmental organization that operates in the areas of health, education and rights helping people make free and informed choices in their sexual and reproductive lives and promoting positive parenting.

APF has contributed to social change and to achieve legal and political changes in the Portuguese society, by acting and taking pioneer positions in the public debate and by presenting proposals to national Governments and Parliament.

Forerunner in the promotion of human rights and sexual and reproductive health, APF develops an integrated work response that includes intervention with vulnerable groups of the population, sex education, technical training, research, national and international cooperation in human rights projects.

APF structure is supported by volunteers and professionals who work at national level and in the six regional offices: APF Alentejo, APF Algarve, APF Centro, APF Lisboa, Tejo e Sado, APF Madeira and APF Norte.
